BALLISTIX / HANDLOADING RECORD KEEPING
A reloading log app for the details behind every round
Good handloading record keeping connects what you assembled at the bench with what happened at the range. Ballistix keeps load recipes, component inventory, costs, and ballistic records in one place so you can return to the details later.
Keep a load record you can recognize months later
Save a named recipe with its caliber, overall length, components, quantities, and notes. Record the brass you used, prior firing counts, and brass notes alongside the recipe. Keep bracketed charge variations together when you are working through load development.
Print load labels in the supported card sizes as PDFs for your ammunition boxes. Item change history helps you review updates to saved records.
Track component purchases and cost per round
Organize bullets, powder, primers, cases, wads, and shot with purchase quantities and component costs. The load record brings the selected components and their quantities together with the calculated cost per round.
Factory ammunition belongs in the same journal, too. Record purchased ammo by lot, quantity, retailer, and price, then follow its linked shooting history.
Connect the recipe to a ballistic record
Create a range record for the load or purchased ammunition you shot. Keep session notes and target photos with the weapon and optic setup, including the magnification used. Catalog weapons and suppressors, and keep weapon usage, maintenance, photos, and documents with your gear.
To measure shot groups from a target photo, calibrate a known distance and mark the shot centers yourself. Save multiple groups on a photo and review group size, MOA, and mean radius. These manual measurements and records do not require premium access.
Premium Garmin Xero chronograph imports accept single-session CSV files and all-sessions XLS or XLSX workbooks. Keep individual velocities and session statistics beside your notes. On a normal record, sessions attach directly to that record without choosing a ladder step.
How to import Garmin CSV and workbook sessions explains the preview and save process. For workbook export problems, use the Garmin Xero Send All Sessions XLS import walkthrough.
A simple handloading record-keeping routine
- Add your components and purchase details, then save the load recipe with quantities and notes.
- Keep brass details and printed load labels with the batch you take to the range.
- Create a ballistic record and link the load, weapon, and optic setup used that day.
- Add session notes and target measurements, and import chronograph readings if you have premium access.
- Return to the linked results when planning your next range visit.
Range records are owner-only. You can grant read access to selected data categories; active load recipes are automatically searchable by premium members.
