Ballistix Reloading

BALLISTIX / SHOOTING RANGE JOURNAL

A Ballistix shooting range log for handloads and factory ammo

Remember which ammunition, weapon, and optic setup produced a target. Ballistix keeps range notes, target photos, measured shot groups, and chronograph sessions together in a ballistic record you can revisit.

Record the ammunition and optic setup

Link a range record to a saved handload or purchased ammunition. A handload connects to its recipe, components, brass details, and cost. Purchased ammunition records keep lot, quantity, retailer, and price together with their linked shooting history.

Catalog your optics and link them to weapons. The range record preserves the selected optic setup and session magnification, giving you context when comparing targets later.

You do not need to reload to use Ballistix. Factory ammunition, gear records, target measurements, and range notes provide a journal for shooters who buy their ammunition too.

Keep target groups beside chronograph data

Upload a target photo, calibrate a known length, and mark the shot centers. Save multiple groups with group size, MOA, and mean radius. A ladder record associates its targets and results with saved charge steps.

With premium access, import Garmin Xero / ShotView CSV files or all-sessions XLS/XLSX workbooks. Preview the sessions before saving. Normal records receive sessions directly; ladder records require you to choose the saved step for each imported session.

Review the velocity readings, average velocity, standard deviation, and extreme spread beside the target measurements. Manual range records and target measurements remain available without premium access.

A range log you can use again next time

  1. Choose the weapon and the load or purchased ammunition for your saved ballistic record.
  2. Record the optic setup, magnification, and notes that distinguish the session.
  3. Add target photos and save measured groups with their shot counts and distances.
  4. If using premium Garmin imports, check that each session belongs to this record or ladder step before saving.
  5. Return to the linked ammunition history and group measurements when reviewing another range day.

Weapon records also hold usage, maintenance, photos, and documents. Keeping those gear details alongside the range journal makes it easier to find the context behind a session.

Range records are owner-only. Selected data categories can be shared through read permissions; active load recipes are automatically searchable by premium members.
